The Boyd Theater on Chestnut Street, known to most of us as the Sameric, has been designated as one of the most endagnered historical sites in America by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. LiveNation is the current owner of the property, and bought it with the intention of turning it into a live performance space. Sadly, they're out of the business for now and the place is back on the market. What should we do with it? What would YOU do with it?
Jilladephia hopes it's bought by the Ritz chain, restored and a mix of new releases and classic films could be shown, along with smaller musical and other live performances. We think there's an ability to cast a wide net and that it would be a money maker eventually. We'd pay to see things in grand old movie style!
