This time from the beautiful US Virgin Islands - ah, lovely.
And what do we find out almost immediately upon landing? Chaucer's, the great neighborhood gastro-pub that has been a fixture at 20th and Lombard, has closed after this weekend. I was at chaucer's on the last Friday. It was quite depressing. The menu was reduced to burgers and wings. The draft beer was running warm. Beer bottles running out. The mighty jukebox out of commission. On the plus side, the bartenders comped us a lot of drinks.
